Street vendors oppose as GBA starts removing ‘unauthorised’ stalls

The move by the GBA has created unrest among street vendors who argue that it is an attempt to limit number of vendors legally protected under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, and that the low count will ensure fewer legally recognised vendors and more unauthorised ones who can be removed without rehabilitation
