The new terminal at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport began commercial operations on February 22, marking a major boost to connectivity in the Northeast. Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the first passengers as a ceremonial boarding pass was issued. Designed by architect Nuru Karim, the award-winning terminal is inspired by Assam’s kopou phool and features over 140 MT of bamboo, blending regional identity with modern infrastructure.
